Dear reader:

I wanted to personally thank you for subscribing to this newsletter and supporting independent accountability journalism. There is so much in the works, including a couple big stories, that I am really excited to share it with you in the near future.

Today, however, I have a big announcement to make.

*Important Context* is now part of the OptOut Media Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that I co-founded with award-winning money-in-politics reporter Alex Kotch. Our mission was to advance independent media and reliable journalism.

Brining *Important Context* under OptOut’s umbrella will enable this publication to expand. We are building a brand new website and will hopefully bring on a new reporters going forward. It will also mean my own attention will not be divided between two projects, but rather focused on one.

**For subscribers, both paid and free: Nothing will change on your end.** You will continue receiving emails with our reporting and you will not be signed up for anything (NO SPAM!). The *only* change is that subscription funds will go to OptOut directly.

This is a step in the right direction for *Important Context*. Not only does it mean more reporting, it means more opportunities to work with other outlets (more on that soon). Thank you again for supporting this work!
