Sadly, most of us already know this. But thank you for writing this article. I've been debating on leaving the US or staying to fight. I'm leaning towards leaving after this article.

I’m trans and left the US last June. Taking advantage of my dual Irish citizenship I’m now living in the Netherlands. For me, the breaking point was the snatching of legal immigrants off the street by masked state agents and their rendition to undisclosed locations, which occurred close to the same time that the Trump regime began revoking and refusing accurate gender markers on passports. I feel much safer here, although European countries, too, are becoming more and more xenophobic and moving rightward. Increasingly, the world feels more insecure.

I was hoping for the Netherlands too but can't qualify as a retiree. Portugal is currently in the running as I do some digging. I also have a 6 year old trans girl to think about though, whose parents may join me if I go.

I've seen it mentioned but not looked closely yet. I'll definitely do that, thanks!

Oh nvm I did look into that! I don't qualify as I'm not a business owner, nor would I be remotely good at it unless it's a dreaded Airbnb, lol
